Bara Sapoko Ndiaye ruled out until November

Bayern Munich youngster Bara Sapoko Ndiaye has undergone an appendectomy and is expected to remain sidelined until mid-November, dealing a setback to the young Senegalese midfielder’s development at the German champions.

The 18-year-old has undergone surgery to remove his appendix and will now focus on his recovery before returning to action.

The procedure is expected to keep Ndiaye out of several important fixtures for the Bavarian club, including Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund on October 31 and the UEFA Champions League meeting with Atlético Madrid on November 3.

His absence also means he will miss the opportunity to feature in a crucial period of Bayern’s campaign as the club continues to compete on domestic and European fronts.

Ndiaye was already absent from Bayern’s 6-1 victory over Magdeburg in the DFB-Pokal on Wednesday, October 28, and his latest medical setback is expected to delay his return to the first-team squad.

The Senegalese prospect will now prioritise his recovery, with a return around the middle of November anticipated, although his availability will depend on his progress during rehabilitation.

The situation could also affect his international prospects, with Ndiaye’s participation in Senegal’s upcoming November international window now in doubt.

The midfielder has made two appearances for Bayern Munich across all competitions this season as he continues to adapt to life at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Ndiaye secured his long-term future with the German giants in August 2026, signing a permanent contract that runs until June 2031 following a loan spell from Gambinos Stars.

The agreement reflected Bayern’s commitment to the youngster’s development, with the club investing in his potential as he seeks to establish himself at senior level.

For now, the priority will be a full recovery from surgery, with Ndiaye hoping to return to training and resume his progress once he receives medical clearance.

Bayern will also be monitoring his rehabilitation closely as they assess when the Senegalese midfielder can safely return to competitive action.
