Bayern Munich honoured Harry Kane with a special presentation at the Allianz Arena before their German Cup second-round tie against Magdeburg on 31 October 2026.
The England striker carried the Ballon d’Or on to the pitch for the first time in his career as his team-mates formed a guard of honour. Kane was greeted by sustained applause and chants from the Bayern supporters, who filled the stands at the Munich stadium.
The tribute came only a few days after Kane won the prestigious individual award by a narrow margin over Kylian Mbappe. It was the first Ballon d’Or of his career and made him the first English player to claim the prize while wearing a Bayern Munich shirt.
Bayern had arranged the ceremony before the start of a significant cup match, with Kane expected to lead the side’s attempt to progress to the next round. The holders of the Ballon d’Or were due to host Magdeburg at the Allianz Arena in the second round of the German Cup.
The occasion created an unusual build-up to the fixture, with the focus initially on Bayern’s leading forward rather than the match itself. Players stood on either side of the pitch to salute their captain and team-mate as he displayed football’s most coveted individual trophy.
The fixture information accompanying the report also lists SV Darmstadt in the 2. Bundesliga and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, with both entries dated 31 October 2026.
