ASKO de Kara will face Al Ahly, Raja Club Athletic and Primeiro de Agosto in Group A of the CAF Confederation Cup after Wednesday’s draw.
The Togolese side secured its place in the group stage against Mali’s FC Diarra, progressing on the away-goals rule after the tie ended 3-3 on aggregate.
ASKO now face a demanding challenge against three clubs with considerable experience of continental football. Al Ahly, the record holders for CAF Champions League titles, have also won the CAF Confederation Cup, lifting the trophy in 2014.
Raja Club Athletic have twice been crowned champions of the competition, in 2018 and 2021. Primeiro de Agosto of Angola complete a group that will test ASKO’s hopes of reaching the knockout stages.
The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals. The group phase is scheduled to begin in November 2026.
The other groups also contain several established clubs, while the less experienced sides face difficult routes through the competition.
