Egypt Cup round of 32 to be played in front of fans

The Egyptian Football Association has confirmed that all matches in the round of 32 of the Egypt Cup will be played with supporters in attendance.

The fixtures will take place from 4 November to 10 November, after the Egyptian Super Cup was postponed. Matches at this stage had been played behind closed doors in previous seasons.

Mustafa Azzam, secretary general of the Egyptian Football Association, told FilGoal.com: “The Egypt Cup round-of-32 matches will be played with fans present as normal.”

The Video Assistant Referee system will not be used in the round of 32. It will be introduced from the last 16, as was the case in previous seasons.

The Egyptian Super Cup had originally been scheduled for the first week of next month. Following its postponement, the second round of the Egypt Capital Cup and the Egypt Cup round of 32 will be played instead.

Egypt Insurance booked a meeting with Zamalek after eliminating Pharco on penalties, winning the shootout 4-2. Al-Sekka Al-Hadid advanced by beating El Nasr 1-0 and will face Al Ahly.

Al Dakhleya also progressed with a 1-0 victory over Tersana and will play defending champions Pyramids.
