Congo coach Claude Le Roy names squad for qualifiers

Republic of Congo head coach Claude Le Roy has named a provisional 35-man squad for the upcoming double-header against Comoros in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Red Devils will face Comoros on November 13 and 17, as they look to revive their qualification campaign after a difficult start to the qualifying series.

Congo suffered a defeat and recorded a draw in their opening two matches, leaving Le Roy’s side under pressure to secure positive results in the upcoming fixtures.

The first encounter will be played at the Malouzini Stadium in Comoros before the two teams meet again in the return fixture at the Alphonse Massamba-Débat Stadium in Brazzaville.

Le Roy has included 35 players in his provisional selection, comprising four goalkeepers, 11 defenders, nine midfielders and 11 forwards, as he assesses his options ahead of the crucial assignments.

Congo will be hoping to make the most of home advantage in the return fixture as they seek to collect valuable points and strengthen their position in the race to qualify for the 2027 AFCON finals.
