Zimbabwean outfit Scottland FC part ways with coach Norman Mapeza after Champions League exit
Zimbabwean club Scottland FC have parted ways with head coach Norman Mapeza, just months after his appointment in March 2026.
Despite stating reasons, the club has decided to sever ties with the 54-year-old tactician.
Mapeza’s exit comes after Scottland FC suffered elimination in the second qualifying round of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League, missing out on a place in the group stage.
The Zimbabwean side had put themselves in a promising position after securing a 2-0 victory over Angola’s Petro de Luanda in the first leg.
However, they failed to protect their advantage in the return encounter, bringing their continental campaign to an end and dealing a blow to their ambitions.
Following Mapeza’s departure, Scottland FC have appointed former Zimbabwe international Peter Ndlovu as interim head coach while the club prepares for the next phase of its campaign.
The club will now look to regroup under Ndlovu’s temporary leadership as they seek to maintain stability and move forward following the coaching change.
