Zimbabwe coach Ramon Catala unveils provisional squad for Equatorial Guinea double-header

Zimbabwe head coach Ramon Catala has announced a provisional squad for the Warriors’ upcoming double-header against Equatorial Guinea in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Warriors will face Equatorial Guinea in home and away encounters as they seek to strengthen their qualification hopes and secure valuable points in the race for a place at the continental showpiece.

Catala has named a 34-man provisional squad, comprising three goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders and 16 forwards, as he assesses his options ahead of the crucial fixtures.

The selection includes experienced midfielder Marshall Munetsi, who plays for English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, alongside compatriot Tawanda Chirewa.

Midfielder Marvellous Nakamba, Andy Rinomhota and Jonah Fabisch also feature in the squad, while defender Jordan Zemura of Watford adds further experience to the defensive options.

The attacking department boasts several familiar names, including former Warriors captain Knowledge Musona, Walter Musona, Tino Kadewere and Tawanda Maswanhise.

Bill Antonio, who plays for Belgian club KV Mechelen, is also included, alongside Prince Dube, Washington Navaya, Ishmael Wadi and Daniel Msendami.

Catala will hope the selected players can deliver the required performances as Zimbabwe prepare for two important encounters against Equatorial Guinea.
