Kylian Mbappe has arrived in London with his family and Real Madrid’s delegation ahead of the 70th Ballon d’Or awards ceremony.
The France forward travelled to the British capital on Monday, just hours before football’s leading individual prizes are presented, according to Foot Mercato.
Mbappe will be closely focused on the final result as he bids to win the first Ballon d’Or of his career. He faces strong competition from Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane.
His arrival comes less than 24 hours after he scored twice to give Real Madrid a 2-1 victory over Barcelona in El Clasico.
The match took place at Camp Nou on Sunday in the 10th round of La Liga, with both of Real Madrid’s goals coming from Mbappe.
Although Real Madrid ended last season without a team trophy, Mbappe’s individual performances have made him one of the leading contenders for the award.
He scored 42 goals and supplied seven assists in 44 appearances for Real Madrid during the 2025-2026 season. Those figures underlined his attacking influence despite the club’s failure to win a major competition.
Mbappe also produced a notable campaign with France at the 2026 World Cup. He scored 10 goals and provided four assists in eight matches, finishing as the tournament’s leading scorer with 10 goals.
France, known as Les Bleus, finished fourth at the World Cup, but Mbappe’s performances confirmed his status as one of the tournament’s outstanding players.
The Ballon d’Or ceremony follows the La Liga fixture involving Real Madrid on 01 November 2026. Racing Santander are also listed in connection with the competition.
