En-Nesyri seals Al-Ittihad comeback against Neftchi Fergana

Al-Ittihad came from behind to beat Neftchi Fergana 2-1 and claim a valuable victory in the AFC Champions League Elite at Istiklol Stadium.

The Saudi side looked set for a disappointing result after the hosts took the lead in the 17th minute. Jamshed Iskanderov converted from the penalty spot after a VAR review found that Al-Ittihad striker George Ilenikhena had handled the ball.

That setback forced Al-Ittihad to chase the game, and the visitors gradually increased the pressure as they searched for an equaliser. Their persistence was rewarded in the 34th minute when Algeria international Houssem Aouar headed home with precision to restore parity before half-time.

The second half developed into an open contest, with both teams creating opportunities as they attempted to secure all three points. Neither side was able to establish control, and a draw appeared increasingly likely as the match moved towards its conclusion.

However, Al-Ittihad found a decisive moment in the 90th minute. Morocco striker Youssef En-Nesyri scored the winning goal to complete the comeback and give his side three important points from a difficult away fixture.

The result also prevented Al-Ittihad from dropping further points in their continental campaign and provided a significant boost as the competition continues.

Al-Ittihad now have four points and move provisionally into seventh place in the West group standings. Neftchi Fergana remain on three points and sit ninth.
