Adi Hutter backs Lilian Brassier to become future leader at Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Adi Hutter has praised Lilian Brassier for his rapid adaptation to life in the Bundesliga, backing the French defender to develop into a leadership figure at the club.

The summer signing from Stade Rennes has quickly established himself in Frankfurt’s defence, impressing with his physical strength, defensive reliability and ability to organise the back line.

Hütter was particularly pleased with how quickly the 26-year-old settled into his new surroundings and developed an understanding with his teammates.

“Credit must go to Lilian for how quickly he has adapted to the team and made himself feel at home, but also to the way the team has welcomed him. When a player produces performances like that, you can immediately see that he feels comfortable,” Hütter said.

Brassier tipped for leadership role

The Frankfurt manager believes Brassier’s influence could extend beyond his performances on the pitch, highlighting the defender’s communication and growing presence within the dressing room.

“Even in training, you can see how he interacts with the lads and communicates with them. He will take on a leadership role in the future, especially once he speaks the language better,” Hütter added.

Brassier has formed an effective partnership with captain Robin Koch at the heart of Frankfurt’s defence, helping the team improve its defensive organisation after a difficult start to the campaign.

Long-term plans at Frankfurt

Brassier joined Frankfurt from Rennes during the summer transfer window and signed a contract running until June 2031. His arrival followed several seasons of experience in France’s top flight.

Hütter already knew the defender from his time managing AS Monaco, making the transfer an opportunity to reunite with a player whose qualities he had previously followed.

The coach has been encouraged by Brassier’s ability to adapt quickly to a different league and tactical environment.

Frankfurt have also shown signs of defensive improvement, conceding just once across their most recent two matches against Cologne and Borussia Dortmund.

With Brassier delivering consistent performances and earning the trust of his manager, the Frenchman looks well positioned to remain a key figure in Frankfurt’s back line.
