Tottenham boss De Zerbi hails Kudus impact after Chelsea win
Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has praised Ghana international Mohammed Kudus following the club’s crucial away victory over Chelsea in the English Premier League.
The Black Stars attacker started and played 89 minutes as Tottenham secured a convincing 2-0 victory over the Blues at Stamford Bridge, with the winger playing an important role in the team’s attacking performance.
Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders turned a Mateus Fernandes corner into his own net to hand Tottenham the lead before Mathys Tel sealed the points with a superb solo goal late in the game.
The victory marked Tottenham’s first win of the Premier League campaign, providing a significant boost to De Zerbi’s side as they look to build momentum in the competition.
Speaking after the match, the Italian tactician singled out Kudus and fellow winger Mathys Tel for their performances, insisting the duo were instrumental in securing all three points against their London rivals.
“I think we won the game with two wingers, Kudus and Mathys, they made the difference,” De Zerbi said.
Kudus, who recently returned from injury, will be hoping to maintain his momentum and establish himself as a key figure in De Zerbi’s attacking setup as the season progresses.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian has made eight appearances across competitions for Tottenham Hotspur this season, registering two assists in the process.
His latest performance against Chelsea will provide further encouragement as he continues to work towards delivering a consistent contribution for the North London club.
