Al Ahly have no plans to sign Zamalek left-back Ahmed Fatouh despite the uncertainty surrounding his contract renewal, with the defender reportedly seeking a financial package worth around $1 million.

Fatouh’s future at Zamalek has come under scrutiny amid reports of disagreements over the financial terms of a new contract, with the player seeking a package that reflects his value to the Egyptian giants.

The reported demands are estimated at approximately 50 million Egyptian pounds, equivalent to around $1 million, covering the proposed contract terms and signing bonus. However, the figure remains an estimate of the financial package being discussed rather than a confirmed official demand.

The situation has added uncertainty to Zamalek’s efforts to secure the defender’s long-term future, particularly as reports suggest that the club has yet to present him with an official renewal offer.

Fatouh’s agent, Samir Salah, has reportedly maintained that his client deserves to be properly valued financially in any new agreement, indicating that the terms offered by Zamalek will be crucial in determining the outcome of the negotiations.

The renewal dispute has also reportedly been complicated by an incident involving a member of Zamalek’s board, who is said to have contacted the player and asked him to apologise. Fatouh allegedly rejected the request, adding another dimension to the situation surrounding his future at the club.

Despite the uncertainty, Al Ahly are not considering a move for Fatouh, ruling out suggestions that the reigning Egyptian heavyweights could attempt to lure him away from their fierce Cairo rivals.

The club’s position is significant given the attention surrounding the defender’s contractual situation, with speculation about his future potentially fuelling suggestions of interest from other Egyptian sides.

However, there is currently no indication that Al Ahly intend to enter the race for his signature, leaving Zamalek to focus on resolving the renewal dispute.

Fatouh has been a prominent figure in Egyptian football, and retaining his services would allow Zamalek to maintain continuity at left-back. Nevertheless, the financial terms of a potential extension and the reported disagreements between the player and the club remain key issues to address.

With no official renewal offer reportedly made and Al Ahly not pursuing the defender, Fatouh’s future will largely depend on whether Zamalek can reach an agreement with his representatives in the coming negotiations.
