French-Congolese midfielder Darryl Bakola is being linked with a move from Sassuolo to Serie A rivals Napoli, with the 18-year-old having made a regular contribution since joining the Italian club.

Bakola has appeared in seven Serie A matches this season, starting 75% of Sassuolo’s games and providing two assists. He has also featured twice in the Italy Cup, registering one assist.

The central midfielder joined Sassuolo from Marseille on 2 February 2026 in a deal worth €10m. His market value is now listed at €15m, while his contract with Sassuolo runs until 30 June 2030.

Bakola began his senior career at Marseille after progressing through the French club’s youth system and was part of the Marseille Under-19 side that won the French Youth Cup in the 2023-24 season.

The reported interest from Napoli comes as Bakola establishes himself in Sassuolo’s first-team squad. He has played 79% of the club’s available Serie A minutes this campaign and remains under a long-term contract in Reggio Emilia.
