Colombe du Sud reach CAF Champions League group stage for first time

Colombe du Sud have secured a historic place in the CAF Champions League group stage after eliminating Teungueth FC 3-0 on aggregate in the second preliminary round.

The Cameroonian side completed the job with a 1-0 victory in Yaounde on Sunday, having already established an advantage in the first leg. Jean Huge Eyango Priso scored the only goal of the match to settle the tie.

Colombe du Sud managed their lead effectively after taking control of the contest, keeping the Senegalese side at bay and confirming their progress to the next stage of Africa’s leading inter-club competition.

The qualification marks the first time in the club’s history that Colombe du Sud have reached the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

They will now join the teams competing for the continent’s top honours, with the club able to prepare for the next phase of its campaign with renewed ambition.

The achievement rewards the work carried out by Colombe du Sud and gives Cameroonian football a new platform on the African stage.
