Maghreb de Fes secured a historic place in the CAF Champions League group stage by beating ASEC Mimosas 2-1 in Abidjan on Sunday, 25 October 2026.
The Moroccan side advanced 3-2 on aggregate after a dramatic second leg at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny. The teams had drawn 1-1 in the first meeting and produced a closely contested tactical battle from the opening whistle.
MAS Fes took the lead in the 62nd minute, but ASEC Mimosas responded 11 minutes later as the home side, backed by its supporters, drew level.
The tie appeared finely poised until the visitors struck again in the 97th minute. That late goal settled the match and confirmed Maghreb de Fes’ place among Africa’s top 16 clubs.
The victory also sees MAS Fes return to the continent’s elite competition after a 14-year absence.
