Al Nassr ownership talks involve four interested parties, including Ronaldo representatives
Al Nassr could be heading towards a major change in ownership after four parties held meetings with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) about a possible takeover.
The discussions form part of an ongoing review of the club’s future ownership, with the possibility that a significant proportion of Al Nassr’s shares could be transferred to new investors.
Saudi network Thmanyah reported that Al Nassr is currently the subject of PIF’s attention, with a takeover being considered. The issue could be resolved during the current season if the necessary procedures are completed and a final agreement is reached.
Among those interested are representatives of Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo, although the identities of the other three parties have not been disclosed. Details of the proposals under discussion have also not been made public.
No final agreement has been announced, and the outcome will depend on the meetings and negotiations taking place over the coming period.
One ownership structure being considered would follow the model used at Al Hilal. Under that arrangement, investors would hold 70% of the club, while PIF would retain a 30% stake.
The proposed change could mark a new phase for Al Nassr, particularly in terms of investment and the way the club is managed. It could also affect its plans as it seeks to continue competing for domestic and continental honours.
However, neither the takeover nor the reported ownership split has been officially confirmed. The club’s future structure therefore remains under discussion, with attention now focused on whether the process can be completed during the current season.
