Real Madrid teenager Yan Diomande can set an individual landmark when he faces Barcelona in his first El Clasico on Sunday.
The Ivorian is preparing to play in the fixture at the age of 19 years and 346 days, with the opportunity to become the second-youngest Real Madrid player to score against Barcelona in La Liga.
According to AS, Diomande will move into second place on that list if he finds the net at Camp Nou. Only Vinicius Junior has scored for Real Madrid against Barcelona at a younger age, having done so aged 19 years and 233 days in March 2020.
Real Madrid visit Barcelona in the 10th round of the league season, with the hosts aiming to strengthen their position at the top of the table and increase the gap between the two sides to nine points.
Barcelona lead La Liga on 27 points. Atletico Madrid are second on 25 points after beating Deportivo La Coruna 1-0 on Saturday, while Real Madrid sit third with 21 points.
The match will be Diomande’s first appearance in the Spanish clasico, and a goal would give the 19-year-old a place in the club’s record books alongside one of Real Madrid’s most prominent recent scorers in the fixture.
