Gouna agree deal for Alaa Abdel Aal to replace Ahmed Mostafa ‘Bibo’

Gouna have reached an agreement with Alaa Abdel Aal to return as head coach after the club announced the departure of Ahmed Mostafa “Bibo”.

Abdel Aal previously managed Gouna between 2023 and 2025 before leaving to take charge of Ghazl El Mahalla. He will now replace Bibo, whose exit follows a difficult start to the season.

Gouna dismissed Bibo after their 2-0 defeat by Smouha in the seventh round of the Egyptian Premier League. The result was the club’s fifth consecutive loss, leaving them with two points in 19th place, second from bottom.

Bibo is the sixth manager to leave an Egyptian Premier League club this season.

Imad El Nahhas left Al Masry, with Ahmed Sami appointed as his replacement. Mohamed El Sheikh departed Wadi Degla, who handed the position to Mostafa Shabita.

Majdy Abdel Ati also left Abu Qir Fertilizers, with Haitham Shaaban taking over as head coach.

Ahmed Abdel Maqsoud has departed Petrojet, although the club has not announced his replacement.
