Nkosingiphile Ngcobo changes representation as Kaizer Chiefs future comes under scrutiny
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has joined FIFA-licensed agency Lupus Sports, a move that could prove significant with the January transfer window approaching.
Ngcobo, who turns 27 next month, is reportedly unsettled at Naturena after making limited appearances for the Soweto club this season. His current contract is due to expire at the end of June next year, adding uncertainty to his future with Kaizer Chiefs.
Lupus Sports confirmed the midfielder’s arrival with a message on social media.
“Welcome to the family, Mshini. We look forward to the journey ahead,” the agency said.
The agency’s clients include Sabah FC’s Aden McCarthy, Orlando Pirates right-back Kamogelo Sebelebele, Mamelodi Sundowns’ new signing Thabo Cele and Cele’s team-mate Bathusi Aubaas.
Ngcobo’s change of representation is likely to increase interest in his position over the coming months, particularly after previous reports suggested he came close to leaving Naturena during the last transfer window.
The attacking midfielder has been part of the Kaizer Chiefs first team since 2017, but his record for the club has been modest. He has made 129 appearances for Amakhosi, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
Born in Pietermaritzburg, Ngcobo now faces an uncertain period as Kaizer Chiefs consider his position before his contract reaches its end date.
