The Egyptian Football Association’s Committee of Referees met on Wednesday to review officials’ performances and agree priorities for the next stage.
The committee assessed the positive and negative aspects of refereeing during the recent period before discussing its work programme for the coming phase.
A development plan was also approved with the aim of raising the overall standard of refereeing in Egypt.
As part of the plan, dates will be set for a series of training courses in the coming period. The programme is intended to prepare a new generation of referees while continuing to improve the level of officiating across the country.
Essam Abdel Fattah has chaired the Egyptian refereeing committee since the start of the current season.
He is joined on the committee by Gamal El-Ghandour, Mahmoud El-Banna, Mahmoud El-Hanafi and Ayman Degheish.
The current committee replaced the one that was in charge during the previous season, which was led by Colombian Oscar Ruiz.
