Saudi Pro League: Abha v Al-Kholood postponed for logistical reasons

The Saudi Pro League has postponed Abha’s match against Al-Kholood in the competition’s 10th round because of logistical considerations.

The fixture will now be played on Monday, 7 December 2026, at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Abha.

The league said the revised schedule had been arranged with the minimum required rest period between matches in mind, as well as the operational and organisational requirements involved in staging each game.

The changes form part of the league’s established procedures for managing its fixture schedule and take account of the logistical arrangements required by the teams.

According to Okaz newspaper, the postponement was linked to a clash with Damac’s match against Al-Tai in the First Division League. The availability of pitches at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Al Mahala was also limited because of winter maintenance work.

The match is the second involving Abha to be postponed.

The Saudi Pro League announced several days ago that Abha’s eighth-round fixture against Al-Faisaly would also be rearranged. That game had originally been scheduled for Sunday, 11 October, but was moved to Tuesday, 27 October.

The league said the decision followed an assessment of the circumstances surrounding the match and was made in line with its approved organisational procedures.

It added that the move would allow the competition to respond to circumstances beyond the clubs’ control while maintaining the regular running of the league.

Saudi Al-Riyadiya reported that Al-Faisaly had not reached the outskirts of Abha by late Saturday night because of circumstances connected to its flight.
