The Egyptian Handball Federation is considering moving the men’s Egyptian Super Cup to mid-November, with a final decision on the dates and venue expected at a meeting on Wednesday.
The federation had previously announced that the semi-finals would be played on 30 October at the Hassan Mostafa Sports Hall in 6th of October City.
However, FilGoal.com understands that the federation, led by Khaled Fathy, wants to revise the schedule. Under the proposed plan, the semi-finals would take place on 12 November, followed by the final on 14 November.
The Egyptian Handball Federation will confirm both the timing and location of the competition at its Wednesday meeting.
Al Ahly, Zamalek, Smouha and El-Olympi are the four clubs involved in this season’s tournament.
The semi-final draw has produced the following fixtures:
– Zamalek v El-Olympi – Al Ahly v Smouha
The final will be contested by the winners of those two matches.
If the Super Cup is moved to 12 and 14 November, the sixth round of the league involving the four participating clubs will be brought forward to 30 October.
Al Ahly have won the Egyptian Super Cup in each of the past three editions.
