Getafe boss Jose Bordalas says Dani Carvajal is fit to face Rayo Vallecano

Getafe manager Jose Bordalas says Dani Carvajal is ready to play and could make his debut for the club against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.

Getafe host Rayo Vallecano in the ninth round of the Spanish league, with Bordalas delaying a decision on whether the experienced defender will be included.

“I do not like revealing anything in advance, as you know,” Bordalas said at his pre-match news conference. “Carvajal is training very well with the rest of the team.”

He added: “I will not make the decision until tomorrow. Then you will know whether he will play or not. He is ready, as are the rest of his team-mates, and we will make the decision tomorrow.”

Carvajal joined Getafe as a free agent in recent days after leaving Real Madrid at the end of last season.

The Spain full-back made 451 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 14 goals and providing 66 assists.

During his time at the club, Carvajal won the UEFA Champions League six times, the UEFA Super Cup five times and the FIFA Club World Cup five times. He also lifted the Spanish Super Cup four times, La Liga four times, the Copa del Rey twice and the Intercontinental Cup once.

Getafe are 14th in the La Liga table with eight points from their opening eight matches. They have recorded two wins and two draws, while suffering four defeats.
