Zamalek defender Ahmed Rabie has suffered a broken nose and is expected to miss the club’s next two matches.

Rabie will initially be unavailable for Zamalek’s Egyptian Premier League fixture against Petrol Asyut and the second leg of their CAF Champions League tie with Rwandan Army.

The 25-year-old started Zamalek’s first-leg meeting with Rwandan Army in the last-32 round of the competition. Zamalek won 1-0 away from home.

Rabie confirmed the extent of his injury in a post on Instagram, writing: “Praise be to God in all circumstances. A broken nose – God has decreed, and He does what He wills.”

The player will wear a protective face mask when he returns to action for the team.

Zamalek are preparing to face Petrol Asyut in the seventh round of the Egyptian Premier League. They will then host Rwandan Army in the second leg at Cairo Stadium next Saturday.

Rabie joined Zamalek at the start of last season after moving from National Bank of Egypt. He has made nine appearances for the club since the beginning of the current campaign.
