Egypt’s Under-17 delegation took part in the opening coordination meeting for the Gulf Cup in Doha on Thursday, ahead of a tournament involving 10 national teams from 17 October to 4 November.

The meeting covered the competition’s organisational, administrative, medical and media arrangements. Representatives of the organising supreme committee attended as preparations continued for the start of the tournament in Qatar.

Egypt was represented by team administrative director Ayman Hafez, head of the medical staff Amr Taha, media coordinator Ahmed Darwish and equipment officer Wagih Hassan.

Qatar will host the Under-17 Gulf Cup throughout the competition, which runs from 17 October until 4 November.

Egypt have been placed in Group A for the opening stage, alongside Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait and Yemen.

The tournament will form part of Egypt’s preparations for the Under-17 World Cup, which will also be held in Qatar in November.

Egypt are in Group A at the World Cup, where they will face Qatar, Panama and Greece.
