Desire Doue admits PSG were not fully satisfied despite Man City victory

Desire Doue admitted Paris Saint-Germain were not fully satisfied with their second-half display, despite beating Manchester City 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League.

PSG made the perfect start, scoring early and taking control of the match. Doue said the quick opening goal was crucial against a side of City’s quality.

“We are disappointed with our second half, but we won today, and that’s the main thing,” he told CBS Sports. “We know they are an incredible team. We ourselves are an incredible team with incredible players, so we had to stay focused right from the start of the match. We scored very quickly, which was ideal for us.”

The France international acknowledged that PSG wanted to manage the game better after the interval but could not fully carry out their plan.

“I think the second half wasn’t perfect because we hoped to control the game better, but we couldn’t execute what we wanted. This kind of match is a great test for us,” he said.

Doue also highlighted PSG’s pressing approach. “When we lose the ball, we have to react very quickly and press systematically; that’s what the manager asked us to do. I think today we handled it pretty well,” he added.
