Wenger linked with possible bid to challenge Infantino for FIFA presidency

Arsene Wenger is being considered as a possible candidate to challenge Gianni Infantino in the next FIFA presidential election, according to the British newspaper The Times.

Opponents of the incumbent president are reportedly trying to persuade the former Arsenal manager to stand for the leadership of world football’s governing body.

Those behind the initiative have until 18 November to identify a candidate capable of competing against Infantino. Wenger’s name has emerged as a potential option because he currently works as FIFA’s director of global football development.

The former France coach has not confirmed whether he intends to seek the presidency. Any suggestion that he will enter the race therefore remains conditional until he makes an official decision.
