Zamalek forward Chico Banza criticised the refereeing after his side lost 2-0 to Al Ahly in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Zamalek supporters appealed for a penalty after claiming the Angolan was pushed by Morocco defender Achraf Dari inside the Al Ahly penalty area.
Banza later posted on Instagram Stories: “As always, they receive help from the referees.”
The victory was Al Ahly’s 53rd in the two clubs’ Egyptian Premier League derby meetings. Zamalek have won 29, while the other 51 matches have ended in draws.
The result also extended Moataz Gamal’s winless record against Al Ahly to two matches as Zamalek manager. His team lost 3-0 last season before suffering a 2-0 defeat in this season’s meeting.
For Al Ahly manager Houcine Ammouta, the match provided a winning start to his first derby test against Zamalek.
Al Ahly moved temporarily top of the table on 16 points, while Zamalek suffered their first defeat of the campaign and remained third on 13 points.
