Kolo Muani header rescues Juventus in draw with Cagliari

Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw by Cagliari at the Unipol Domus, with Randal Kolo Muani’s late header denying the home side victory in the sixth round of the Italian league.

Daniel Maldini put Cagliari ahead in the 20th minute, finishing from inside the penalty area to give the hosts the lead.

Juventus remained behind until the 81st minute, when Kolo Muani rose to head in a cross from Karim Alajbegovic and level the score.

The France forward then had two clear opportunities to complete the comeback during the closing stages, but was unable to beat the Cagliari goalkeeper.

The result leaves Juventus with 11 points in sixth place, while Cagliari move to 13 points and sit fourth in the table.

Juventus’ next match is away to Celta Vigo in the Europa League on Thursday, 15 October.
