Kelyann Bezahaf makes strong first start as Olympique de Marseille beat Troyes

Kelyann Bezahaf made the most of his first start of the season as Olympique de Marseille secured a 2-0 victory away to Troyes on Sunday.

The 20-year-old Algerian right-back was handed his opportunity after a number of absences weakened the Marseille squad before the match. Coach Bruno Genesio opted to turn to youth, giving Bezahaf his first start and the chance to show what he could contribute to the team.

Bezahaf played the full match at right-back and produced an encouraging display. He used the opportunity to impress the coaching staff and demonstrate his qualities in a setting that allowed him to express himself.

The sports results website Flashscore awarded him a rating of 7.8 out of 10 for his performance.

Marseille’s victory provided a positive conclusion to the evening, but Bezahaf’s showing was another source of satisfaction for the young defender. He will now hope his performance leads to more playing time in Olympique de Marseille colours.
