Cristiano Ronaldo mocks Simon Jordan in Botox jibe shared by Piers Morgan

Cristiano Ronaldo mocked former Crystal Palace chairman and sports pundit Simon Jordan after Piers Morgan revealed a message from the Portugal forward during a heated television and radio dispute.

Morgan said Ronaldo sent him a video of his argument with Jordan, who had criticised the 41-year-old after he left the Portugal camp following a disagreement with manager Jorge Jesus.

Speaking on his Football Uncensored programme, Morgan said he had shared footage of the confrontation with Ronaldo. The presenter then quoted the message, prompting laughter from guest Jason Candy.

“Cristiano texts back saying: ‘That blonde guy – tell him to stop with the Botox. He looks like an apple,’” Morgan said.

He added: “Breaking news live from Cristiano Ronaldo. You’re an apple.”

Morgan later described Jordan as “a suspiciously smooth-faced blonde apple”. When studio colleague Richard Keys suggested Jordan might not appreciate being called “that blonde guy”, Morgan joked that the 59-year-old had “been naturally blonde for about 20 years”.

The exchange followed an argument between Morgan and Jordan on talkSPORT on the morning of 7 October. Morgan, a well-known Arsenal supporter, strongly defended Ronaldo’s decision to leave the Portugal squad and a subsequent 1,996-word statement explaining his position.

Ronaldo’s frustration reportedly centred on what he regarded as “false promises” made by Jorge Jesus. Morgan said Jordan, like Jesus, had failed to show sufficient respect for a player of Ronaldo’s standing in the game.

Jordan criticised Morgan’s support for the forward, referring to the pair’s 2022 interview, which contributed to Ronaldo’s controversial departure from Manchester United, as “an obsequious, contrived love-in”.

He also questioned Ronaldo’s conduct in the dispute with Jorge Jesus, asking Morgan: “In your overall objective, is it possible that the common denominator in these disputes is some of Ronaldo’s behaviour? Is there any possibility in your balanced, uncertain and sycophantic mindset towards Ronaldo?”

When Morgan continued to object, Jordan said: “With your vast experience of managing players and understanding the dynamics that go on behind the scenes, you can’t even see beyond the end of your nose that there might be a common denominator when problems occur. That common denominator might be Ronaldo’s behaviour.”

Jordan later called Morgan “an idiot” after Morgan accused him of lacking the experience needed to comment on the matter.

Morgan said his backing for Ronaldo’s departure and statement was motivated by “pride”.

“I’m proud of him for standing up for himself,” he said. “I think in life you have to stand up for yourself not just when you’re disrespected, but also when your boss lies to you.”

Morgan added: “He’s clearly nearing the end of his career, he understands his legacy and wants to finish it properly. The one thing I’ve noticed throughout the years I’ve known him is that you have to be honest with him, and you have to respect him.”

The comments were published by Sports Uncensored on 7 October 2026, alongside the caption: “What did Cristiano Ronaldo say to Piers Morgan about Simon Jordan?”
