Egypt take 1-0 lead over Algeria in North Africa Under-20 Championship

Egypt lead Algeria 1-0 in the North Africa Under-20 Championship after Mahmoud Salah scored with a header from a corner.

Mahmoud Salah had earlier gone close when the Algeria goalkeeper made an excellent save to deny his powerful effort from inside the penalty area in the 19th minute.

Four minutes earlier, Egypt missed another opportunity to open the scoring when Nour Ashraf was unable to finish after a fine run from Mahmoud Salah.

Egypt eventually broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute. A corner was delivered into the penalty area and Mahmoud Salah rose to head the ball into the net.
