The Egyptian Football Association is not expected to make any immediate decisions over the latest controversy involving the national team and the coaching staff led by Hossam Hassan and Ibrahim Hassan.
The federation is waiting for official reports and for tensions to ease before addressing the outstanding issues, according to former Al Ahly and Egypt goalkeeper Ahmed Shobier.
Shobier said Egypt FA president Hany Abou Rida had not ordered Ibrahim Hassan to face an investigation, dismissing reports that such a move had been made.
“It was said that Ibrahim Hassan had been referred for investigation; this has no basis in fact,” Shobier wrote on X.
He added that Abou Rida was waiting for a report from Khaled El-Direndaly, as well as a report from the Egypt coaching staff, before discussing the dispute and deciding whether any action was required.
According to Shobier, the federation president believes more time should be allowed for the situation to settle and for the current level of tension to decrease. Abou Rida wants the issues to be considered in a calm atmosphere, with the aim of restoring discipline and a more rational approach within the national team.
The relationship between the Egyptian Football Association and the coaching staff is understood to be a priority for Abou Rida. Shobier also said the federation wants to improve relations between the technical and administrative departments and the players.
Those players include Mohamed Salah, Hamza Abdelkarim and Mohamed Abdelmonem.
The stated aim is to establish relationships based on respect and co-operation among all parties, while avoiding any disparagement of the players, the coaching staff or the Egyptian Football Association.
The federation believes that approach will help preserve stability within the Egypt team during the next phase.
