Arsenal plan January move for Bournemouth star Eli Junior Kroupi

Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi is targeting a return from injury when the Cherries travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on October 25.

The 20-year-old has stepped up his recovery from foot surgery and is hopeful of being fit in time for the Premier League clash, according to French newspaper L’Équipe.

Kroupi underwent surgery after suffering a foot injury in late July, forcing him to begin a rehabilitation programme as he worked towards returning to full fitness.

His progress has now reached a significant stage, with the forward back on the pitch this weekend for the first time since his injury.

Kroupi takes another step in recovery

The Frenchman completed running drills and participated in small-sided games as he continued his rehabilitation.

However, Bournemouth are expected to remain cautious with his recovery and will not rush him back before he is fully ready.

The club will be particularly mindful of avoiding a setback after Kroupi underwent surgery only a few months ago. His return will therefore depend on how his body responds to the increased workload over the coming weeks.

The Manchester United fixture could nevertheless provide the former Lorient forward with a clear target as he works towards a competitive return.

Kroupi’s potential comeback would be timely for Bournemouth, who will be keen to regain the services of one of their most promising attacking players.

13 goals in breakthrough season

Kroupi enjoyed an impressive introduction to Premier League football last season, scoring 13 goals in 33 appearances during his debut campaign.

His goalscoring record highlighted his potential and increased expectations around his development following his move into English football.

The forward combined his finishing ability with movement and attacking instincts to establish himself as an important option for Bournemouth despite his young age.

His absence since July has consequently deprived the Cherries of a player who demonstrated he could make a significant contribution in front of goal.

A successful return to action would give Bournemouth another attacking weapon as the season progresses.

Bournemouth will avoid rushing him

While Kroupi has made encouraging progress, the club’s priority remains ensuring he returns without risking another injury.

His participation in running exercises and small-sided games represents an important milestone, but competitive football places considerably greater demands on a recovering player.

Bournemouth will therefore continue to monitor his fitness closely before determining when he can return to Premier League action.

Kroupi will hope his rehabilitation continues without complications and that he can use the coming weeks to build the fitness required for a return.

If he reaches full fitness in time, the October 25 meeting with Manchester United could mark his comeback and offer the forward an opportunity to begin another chapter after an impressive first Premier League season.

The Frenchman will also be eager to rediscover the form that saw him score 13 times last season as expectations around his development continue to grow.
