Al Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim has entered the final stage of his rehabilitation programme, while Karim El Debes has begun the second phase of his recovery, club doctor Ahmed Gaballah has confirmed.
Al Ahly are preparing to face Assiut Petroleum in the opening round of the group stage of the Egypt Capital Cup.
“Yasser Ibrahim is in the final stage of his rehabilitation programme after suffering a sprain to the medial ligament and a tear to the lateral ligament in his ankle,” Gaballah said on the club’s official website.
“The player is continuing with his medical and physical programme in preparation for returning to team training.”
Gaballah added that El Debes had started the second stage of his rehabilitation and physiotherapy programme after suffering a strain in his adductor muscle.
“The date of his return to team training will be determined according to how he responds to the rehabilitation programme,” he said.
Al Ahly will begin their 2026-27 Egypt Capital Cup campaign against Assiut Petroleum in the group stage.
The club will then turn its attention to their top-flight fixture against Zamalek. Preparations for the derby will begin after the Assiut Petroleum match, with the game scheduled for 11 October in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Al Ahly have been placed in Group Three alongside Eastern Company, ENPPI, El Gouna, Assiut Petroleum and Al Mokawloon Al Arab.
The Egyptian Premier League clubs will return to competitive action after the international break, when the first round of the Egypt Capital Cup takes place.
