Amin Chiakha: Borussia Monchengladbach linked with Rosenborg striker

Algerian-Danish forward Amin Chiakha is being linked with a move from Rosenborg BK to Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach.

Chiakha, 20, has made an immediate impact since joining Rosenborg, scoring 13 goals and providing three assists in 21 Eliteserien appearances this season. He has also scored once in one Norwegian Cup appearance.

The centre-forward joined Rosenborg from Danish club Copenhagen on 19 August 2026 in a deal worth €5m. His performances have since helped raise his market value to €8m, although there is no indication of a fee being discussed for a potential move to Germany.

Chiakha began the season on loan at Rosenborg before making the move permanent. He had spent the first half of 2026 with the Norwegian club on loan from Copenhagen, having previously had a spell at Vejle BK.

The striker was part of Copenhagen’s Danish championship and Danish Cup-winning side in the 2024-25 season. He also finished as the leading scorer in both the UEFA Youth League and Denmark’s Under-19 league in 2023-24.

Chiakha remains under contract with Rosenborg until 31 December 2030. He has started 95% of the club’s league matches this season and played 94% of the available minutes.
