Al-Wehdat appoint Emad El-Nahas as new head coach

Al-Wehdat have officially completed the signing of Emad El-Nahas and his coaching staff, with the Egyptian taking charge of the Jordanian club ahead of Friday’s important match against Al-Jazeera.

The fixture will be El-Nahas’ first official game in charge of Al-Wehdat, who dismissed head coach Wasim Al-Bazour and his assistant staff because of the team’s poor results.

El-Nahas is embarking on another coaching assignment in the Arab world outside the Egyptian league. He previously managed Iraqi club Al-Zawraa.

The new coaching team at Al-Wehdat will be led by El-Nahas as head coach, with Mohamed Mohsen Abu Greisha appointed as general coach and Abdel Rahman Farouk serving as assistant coach.

Ayman Mohamed will work as the team’s performance analyst.

Al-Wehdat are eighth in the league table after three rounds, having collected two points. They drew 0-0 with Al-Faisaly and Al-Salt before losing 1-0 to Al-Ramtha.

The club also suffered a 2-1 defeat by Al-Faisaly in the semi-final of the Jordanian Super Cup.

Al-Wehdat have won the Jordanian league title 17 times, with their most recent championship coming in 2021.
