Egypt international Soheila Wafik has joined North Macedonian club Gazeli, continuing her European volleyball career.

The club announced the signing of the young Egyptian player on Monday after completing an agreement with her in recent days.

Wafik spent last season with Hungarian side Fatum Nyiregyhaza, helping them finish runners-up in the Hungarian Cup. She also represented the club in the European Challenge Cup, where they reached the last 16.

Gazeli finished fifth in the North Macedonian league last season.

“I am looking forward to a successful season, developing with the team collectively and giving my best on and off the court,” Wafik told her new club’s website.

“I am very excited.”

Wafik’s move to Gazeli extends her spell playing in Europe after her season in Hungary.

Egypt have also secured qualification for the 2027 World Cup after winning the African Nations Championship.

That result also confirmed the national team’s place at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics for the first time in its history.
