Slovan Bratislava extend contract of Ghana midfielder Rahim Ibrahim until 2030
Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim has committed his long-term future to Slovakian giants Slovan Bratislava after signing a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2030.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has agreed to a four-year extension, rewarding his impressive performances since the start of the season and securing his future with the reigning Slovakian heavyweights.
Rahim Ibrahim has been attracting attention with his consistent displays for Slovan Bratislava, with his form understood to have placed him on the radar of potential suitors ahead of next summer’s transfer window.
The former Accra Lions player has now been tied down by the Sky Blues, who moved to secure his services with a long-term deal.
“Rahim Ibrahim remains at the Blues. The management of ŠK Slovan Bratislava has agreed with the 25-year-old midfielder to extend his contract until the end of the 2029/30 season. The two-time champion with the Blues is looking forward to new challenges at the most successful Slovak club.” wrote the club.
Ibrahim has made 13 appearances for Slovan Bratislava across all competitions this season, scoring two goals as he continues to establish himself as an important member of the squad.
His new contract is another boost to his career following his recent breakthrough at international level.
The midfielder received his first call-up to the Ghana national team for the opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures.
However, despite being included in the Black Stars squad, Ibrahim is yet to make his senior international debut.
He was part of the Ghana squad that suffered consecutive defeats against Ivory Coast and The Gambia during the recent international break.
With his future now secured in Bratislava, Ibrahim will be hoping to maintain his strong club form and eventually make his long-awaited debut for the Black Stars.
