Yamal urges Barcelona to give Hamza Abdulkarim a chance rather than sign new striker

Lamine Yamal has rejected the idea of Barcelona signing another forward, according to Spanish newspaper El Nacional, with the winger believing the club already has suitable options available.

The report says Yamal feels Barcelona do not need to recruit a new striker while Raphinha is in such impressive form in that position.

The Barcelona forward also considers the presence of Egyptian striker Hamza Abdulkarim another reason for the club to avoid entering the transfer market. Yamal would prefer Abdulkarim to be given opportunities in matches Raphinha misses.

Raphinha has made eight appearances for Barcelona this season, scoring 14 goals in all competitions and providing three assists.

Abdulkarim, by contrast, has played in only one match for Barcelona, featuring for a few minutes in the Spanish league.

Barcelona currently lead the Spanish league table with 21 points from seven wins, maintaining a perfect record.

Their next match is against Getafe on Saturday, 10 October, in the eighth round of the Spanish league.
