Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha tells mother to set boundaries amid sudden fame

Vozinha says the sudden attention surrounding him is putting a strain on his life and has also affected his family.

The Cape Verde goalkeeper has previously spoken about wanting to return to his former way of life after sacrificing much of his privacy since becoming widely known.

His mother, who still lives in Cape Verde, is regularly visited by people hoping to meet her or take a photograph with her.

“I am not there, so I cannot do anything,” Vozinha said. “They have to learn how to deal with this situation and set boundaries.”
