Algeria v Niger: injury concerns shape probable line-ups for 6 October friendly

Algeria will host Niger in a friendly on 6 October, with both sides using the match to test tactical plans and assess their squads.

The meeting brings together two African national teams with different objectives, while their coaches will have the opportunity to make adjustments ahead of future challenges. Algeria will, however, begin the game with several selection concerns.

Algeria

Adem Zorgane and Anis Hadj Moussa have both withdrawn from the squad after suffering injuries and leaving the training camp.

Samir Chergui is also a doubt after missing the group session to work individually with the fitness coach. Himad Abdelli, by contrast, has recovered from the knock he suffered in Burundi and is available for selection.

Algeria’s expected XI is led by Melvin Mastil in goal. Saadi Radouani, Achref Abada, Ramy Bensebaini and Jaouen Hadjam are expected to form the defence.

Adil Aouchiche, Ibrahim Maza and Fares Chaibi are the likely midfield three, with Mohamed Belloumi, Amin Chiakha and Mohamed Amoura set to lead the attack.

Niger

Niger have fewer fitness concerns before travelling to Algeria and, apart from one unresolved issue, the coach has the full squad available.

Amadou Moutari remains doubtful after being substituted at half-time against Gabon. No other injuries have been reported within the Niger squad.

Djibrilla Kassali is expected to start in goal, behind a defence of Aboubacar Camara, Mohamed Abdouramane, Oumar Sako and Rahim Alhassane.

The midfield is likely to include Kairou Amoustapha, Ali Mohamed, Youssouf Oumarou and Amadou Wonkoye. Ousseini Badamassi and Daniel Sosah are the probable attacking pair.
