Gulf Cup 27: Saudi Arabia face Qatar as UAE draw Oman in semi-finals

The semi-final line-up for Gulf Cup 27 is confirmed, with Saudi Arabia set to play Qatar and the United Arab Emirates taking on Oman on Saturday, 3 October.

The UAE and Qatar drew 1-1 in their final Group B match, a result that saw Zlatko Dalic’s UAE finish top of the section. Qatar progressed as runners-up.

Saudi Arabia secured first place in Group A, while Oman finished second after being placed ahead of Iraq following a draw to separate the two teams.

The semi-finals will both be played on the same day in Jeddah.

Saudi Arabia will meet Qatar at 18:55 local time at Al-Inma Stadium. The second semi-final between the UAE and Oman will begin at 21:30 at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium.

Kuwait, the record holders with 10 Gulf Cup titles, were eliminated in the group stage.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar have each won the competition three times, while the UAE and Oman have both lifted the trophy twice.

Bahrain are the holders of Gulf Cup 26. They beat Oman 2-1 in the final, which was played in Kuwait.

Gulf Cup 27 will be broadcast by Abu Dhabi Sports, Al Kass and Dubai.
