Namibia seek breakthrough as Comoros rivalry enters competitive era

The Comoros and Namibia will meet in a competitive fixture for the first time when they face each other in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on Tuesday.

The Cœlacanthes and the Brave Warriors have played three previous matches, but all of them were friendlies. Their most recent encounter came in March 2026 and ended goalless.

That 0-0 draw remains the only match in which neither side has beaten the other.

The Comoros won the first two meetings between the teams. Their opening victory was a narrow 1-0 success, before they followed it with a convincing 4-0 win.

Namibia will therefore be aiming to claim a first victory over the Comoros in what will be the teams’ first official meeting.
