Nigeria eye another win as Guinea-Bissau provide stern Group L test

Guinea-Bissau continue their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Nigeria at Estadio 24 de Setembro on Tuesday, with both sides looking to build on opening victories in Group L.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT on Tuesday, 29 September 2026.

Ranked 132nd in the world, Guinea-Bissau began their qualifying campaign with a convincing 2-0 victory over Tanzania. Franculino Dju scored in the first half before Mama Balde added a second after the interval.

The result gave Guinea-Bissau an ideal start as they prepare to face one of the leading teams in African football.

Nigeria also opened their campaign with three points, although they had to work harder for them in a 2-1 win against Madagascar.

The Super Eagles remain under the management of former Lens defender Eric Chelle, who has overseen their progress over the past 12 months.

Nigeria will look to continue that improvement by securing another victory, but Guinea-Bissau have already shown they will be difficult opponents after their comfortable opening result.
