Clinton Larsen emerges as contender for Siwelele head coach role

Experienced coach Clinton Larsen is in negotiations to become the new head coach of Siwelele FC following Lehlohonolo Seema’s departure, Soccer Laduma can reveal.

Larsen is currently without a club after leaving Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda FC and is now being considered by Siwelele as they seek to appoint Seema’s successor.

“Larsen is negotiating with Siwelele FC. It looks highly likely to happen,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

Larsen could not be reached for comment, while attempts to obtain a response from Siwelele FC were unsuccessful.

The club are enduring a difficult start to the season and remain without a victory after seven matches. They have drawn two games and lost five, leaving them among the three Betway Premiership sides yet to win.

Richards Bay and Marumo Gallants are the other teams still searching for their first league victory.

Siwelele are currently 15th in the Betway Premiership standings, with only bottom-placed Marumo Gallants below them.

Their next fixture is at home against Polokwane City at the Dr. Molemela Stadium on 18 October. The match will be played when league action resumes after the FIFA international break.
