TS Galaxy offer Seluleko Mahlambi improved deal amid transfer interest

TS Galaxy are understood to have offered Seluleko Mahlambi an improved contract as they seek to retain the winger for the 2026/27 season and strengthen their position in any future transfer negotiations.

Sources indicate the club’s proposal is intended to protect Mahlambi’s value should interest develop from larger clubs, both in the Betway Premiership and overseas. The 21-year-old has already been strongly linked with moves to Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Galaxy coach Bernard Parker has previously made clear that he wants Mahlambi to remain at the club for at least another season. That stance follows a breakthrough campaign in which the winger received two PSL Awards nominations.

The club are understood to have acted proactively by offering improved terms before any formal approach arrives. The strategy follows a pattern used by TS Galaxy in recent years, with the club seeking to develop young players while ensuring they are well placed when transfer opportunities emerge.

Given Msimango signed a new contract with Galaxy before moving to Kaizer Chiefs. More recently, Puso Dithejane agreed improved terms before completing his transfer to Chicago Fire in the MLS.

Mahlambi became one of last season’s most notable emerging players after joining Galaxy following his release by Cape Town City. He initially reported to the reserves before being promoted to the senior squad, where his performances quickly increased expectations around his future.

Parker described him as “your modern winger”, while also acknowledging that the speculation surrounding Mahlambi was understandable given the impact he had made.

The proposed contract would allow Galaxy to keep the player as part of Parker’s plans for the coming campaign while giving the club greater control over negotiations if interest from bigger teams develops.

Mahlambi’s progress has therefore placed him at the centre of both Galaxy’s sporting plans and their wider player-development model. The club’s immediate priority is to secure his continued involvement, while the improved deal would also provide greater protection should a club be prepared to meet their asking price.
