Solomon Letsoenyo trains with Marumo Gallants as free-agent decision awaits

Former TS Galaxy left-back Solomon Letsoenyo is training with Marumo Gallants while the Betway Premiership club considers whether to offer him a contract.

The 28-year-old is a free agent after leaving TS Galaxy and is now waiting for clarity over his next move. Gallants are among the clubs to have shown interest in signing the defender.

Letsoenyo confirmed to the Siya crew that he has joined Gallants’ training set-up while the club reaches a decision on his future.

“I am training with Marumo Gallants and waiting for the club to make a decision,” Letsoenyo said.

His availability follows an earlier report that Orlando Pirates could also be an option. Interest from the club was understood to exist, although no move materialised.

“There was that option, but nothing happened, which is why I have since moved on and am now training with Marumo, as I have told you,” Letsoenyo added.

Although the transfer window closed at midnight on Monday, Letsoenyo can still be considered by clubs because he is not under contract to another team. Unlike players who remain registered with a club, free agents are not tied to the same transfer deadline.

That leaves the defender’s immediate future unresolved, with his time training at Gallants offering him a possible route to remain in the Betway Premiership. Any decision will depend on whether the club chooses to take its interest further.

Letsoenyo joined TS Galaxy from Stellenbosch FC in 2023 and spent three seasons with the club. During the 2025/26 campaign, he made 32 appearances in all competitions.

He was also part of the Galaxy team that reached the Nedbank Cup final against Durban City in May. However, his involvement reduced towards the end of the season, and he was among the substitutes for the club’s final four league matches.

His top-flight experience and free-agent status could make him an option for Gallants at left-back. For now, though, Letsoenyo remains on trial with the club while he waits for its decision.
