Samba Diawara joins AJ Auxerre as assistant coach after leaving Stade de Reims

Samba Diawara has officially joined AJ Auxerre as an assistant coach after ending his time on the Stade de Reims coaching staff.

The former Mali international left Reims for a new project, with the club confirming his departure on 15 September. Diawara had been part of the club’s staff since 2022 and now begins a new chapter with Auxerre.

Diawara brings extensive experience of French and Belgian football to the AJ Auxerre set-up. During his playing career, the former defender represented Charleroi and Saint-Trond in Belgium before continuing his career in France.

He later moved into coaching at Stade de Reims, where he was involved in 149 matches as a member of the staff. He served as head coach for 23 of those games.

His appointment at Auxerre represents the latest step in his development as a coach. He will now work as part of the AJA staff, with his experience and knowledge of the professional game set to support the Burgundy club.
