Marcelo Allende vows to remain professional in final Mamelodi Sundowns contract year

Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Marcelo Allende says he will continue to give his best for the club until the final day of his contract.

The 26-year-old Chilean is in his fifth season with the two-time African champions and is currently in the last year of his deal at Chloorkop.

Allende has won five trophies during his time with Mamelodi Sundowns, including three league titles, the African Football League and the CAF Champions League.

Speaking to the media before the Intercontinental Cup Final against Al Ahli this afternoon, Allende stressed that his approach would not change despite the uncertainty over his future.

“I think I’m very professional,” he said.

“I have my last year here for now and I always try to do my best until the final year. And I’ll do that always what I’ll do in the future, now in the present.

“My family gave me this idea, and I will respect all of them always everywhere.”

Allende also addressed his consistency, saying his performances were built on a continued effort to meet the standards expected at Mamelodi Sundowns.

“I always try to do my best you know, always try to respect the badge,” he added.

“I think that’s the most important thing. We have such good quality players with respect and when you play always give the best.”

The Chilean international said respecting the club’s badge remained central to his mentality, while also highlighting the quality and attitude within the Mamelodi Sundowns squad.

His comments came as the club prepared for the Intercontinental Cup Final against Al Ahli, with Allende insisting he would focus on his responsibilities in the present while continuing to conduct himself professionally in the future.
